To the establishment

To the establishment

Every vessel has a captain who directs, organizes, manages, supervises, evaluates and motivates a crew that works cooperatively, following the guidelines to take the ship to the goal, a safe harbor. This is how all organizations are, no matter what they are dedicated to and education does not escape from this. An educational manager applies the basic premises of any manager: plans, organizes, supervises, evaluates, directs, controls and motivates everyone who is part of the school community, to achieve goals effectively, efficiently and effectively.

Starting from the fact that the education of a people is the bridge that leads to the development of the same, you can understand the importance of paying attention to those people who run the educational institutions. There may be many papers with coherent and beautiful writings about the duty of school management, with methodological lines to apply their policies, but if there are not people with the managerial skills and knowledge to apply them, nothing is functional, we are in a dead end. This is how important educational management is. It is the tool that will establish organizational structures based on the effective achievement of the institutional vision, the objectives and the agreed actions in a dialogical, consensual and collective way to achieve the commitment and sense of belonging of its members in favor of the integral formation of their learners.

Therefore, in the educational management plays a very important role the organization, leadership, supervision and evaluation of results, which will determine the turns required by the institution to obtain greater achievements. That is why the ability to look again and offer new proposals is fundamental, in order to refresh, regenerate structures and obtain success with fewer resources. On the other hand, it must develop a healthy and harmonious organizational climate, with the capacity to integrate and strengthen the human talents with which it is counted.

Management, rather than as a position or function, is understood as the set of positive attitudes and high quality that distinguishes a leading organization under the direction of people with initiative, creativity and spirit of change. The manager has the responsibility to raise the strategies of institutional development and ensure sustained growth, with a high sense of the cultivation of values.

In the field of teaching, management is very different from the approach given to the management of companies. "Mane J. states that educational management is a process of coordination of an educational institution through the exercise of managerial skills aimed at planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating, the strategic management of those activities required to achieve pedagogical efficiency, efficiency administrative. "

Administrators and / or modern educational managers are called to envision new and significant ways to manage and improve the management of Educational Institutions in accordance with contemporary paradigms, which implies a reconceptualization in the ways of thinking and acting in the different management processes, administrative, pedagogical, management, curricular, community, legal, etc., of an educational institution that requires integral management processes that articulate the multiple instances of school life.

Currently, Venezuelan education is in crisis because this problem is expressed as the inability of educational systems to be consistent with the new attitude, behavior and ways of seeing the world by students, and as part of this, management in the classroom it plays a primordial role.

In the classrooms there is not always the most suitable person, in many cases there is no vocation to the work that is done and as if it were not enough, most of the time it is accompanied by little professionalization. It is necessary to make changes at all educational levels, that is, to re-program the system from another perspective, where the teacher sees himself in need to look for new roles in the classroom in the light of management, where he is an objective leader within your organization.

So, management in the classroom represents the vital and feasible alternative in times of crisis. Both the manager and the teacher handle special situations, such as: evaluation, communication, motivation, planning, control, change, among others, which places them within a management context throughout the term, this implies that teachers or classroom managers must be effective so that they can be considered agents of change, because what is proposed to achieve in students as a final product, are changes in behavior and learning.

It is important to note that in classroom management, the teacher establishes actions and strategies that allow him to solve the problem of order in the classroom, taking into account that order does not mean discipline, silence, passivity of the students but is referred to the Provision of the environment required for the planned activity to be fully fulfilled The classroom represents the environmental context where the instruction is developed, but this can not be carried out if there is no adequate environment for the activity to develop successfully.

In the past, companies paid little attention to job motivation because they considered it a pointless waste of time, as well as job training. This has created many companies that have stagnated and become uncompetitive. But as the market became more competitive, in the same way, the importance of having motivated employees was given value.

If we had to name the benefits of staff motivation, we should mention the following:

· Better image of the company. If the company cares about a value as important as its human capital, its image will improve both by the simple fact of doing so and by the consequences of it.

· Greater commitment with the company. If employees feel that they are valued in the company and that something is done to make them feel more comfortable, they will feel committed to it.

· Higher work performance If workers are motivated they will perform more because they feel better in their work and do it with greater efficiency.

· More and better ideas for improvement. Workers who feel valued and motivated are able to have new ideas and pass them on to their superiors.

· Minor inconveniences for the company. If workers feel unmotivated they may be prone to have more work-related illnesses and work accidents, be unpunctual, miss more days at work, create a bad environment, get along with their colleagues, etc. All this leads to economic losses for the business.

· Greater business competitiveness. Companies whose workers perform more, have more and better ideas, feel comfortable in their work and give their best are much more competitive than others.

· Less brain drain. Workers who do not feel good in their work space tend to leave, workers who feel comfortable and motivated in their job tend to stay in the company although others may offer better conditions. The company can retain its most valuable workers by motivating them.

· Better image of the company as a good employer, which leads to attracting talent or valuable employees. It is as important to know how to retain talents as to capture them, that is why you have to design strategies for both, and without a doubt the motivation necessarily leads to both.

Having described each of the benefits, I think we have no doubt that a company that cares about its employees gets better benefits in their favor in the short and long term. Not all the strategies we seek to apply these motivations have to do with large economic investments, there are "tailored to each pocket" the important thing is to implement them.

A happy and satisfied employee is a more productive and efficient employee, therefore we would have satisfied students, parents and representatives of the investment made for their benefit.

To my teaching colleagues

To my teaching colleagues

Some time ago a lady told me:

Now the teachers do not want to work, they are doing a strike to increase their salaries, as if they had a great job, anybody sits at a desk, opens a book and begins to dictate or copy on a blackboard.

I did not answer anything, I did not ignore his criticism, because I knew that one day I would have the opportunity to explain what it is really to be a teacher, and it was.

The following weeks she tells me:

Is your work like a pretty complicated Mrs. Maria?

To which I gladly replied:

I have the best job in the world, I have the best profession that any human being could have, to be a teacher is not just to open a book and dictate a content, to be a teacher is: to look every morning about forty students in a classroom , to know each one as an individual and at the same time as part of the group, is to know if the child slept well or not just by looking at it, is to worry about whether he ate or did not eat before coming to school, is knowing that everyone has a life completely different from the rest of the world and that in their environment there are polluting factors that worry, it is knowing how to recognize in an instant what type of tears are coming out of their eyes, whether they are sadness or joy, pride or fear, is to try to take a smile of triumph every day to help overcome stages, is to remember your childhood and think how beautiful and supposedly uncomplicated life was, is to see every hole in your shirt, pants, shoes or socks and have to A thread and needle to sew, is to have children with learning difficulties of different kinds, try to understand them and teach them all.

It is feeling anguish when a child falls, hits or breaks his little leg, is holding a bandage or alcohol, otherwise a hug and a word of encouragement, dry his tears and tell him to continue, that nothing happened ; is to breathe the cough or sneeze of a child who is sick and comes to you wanting to be pampered (consenting), is having to buy weekly lice ball because the girls hug you so much that it is impossible that a teacher has not is contaminated with these bugs, is to sit with each of them to check their heads and groom them, comb their hair, put them flirtatious, is teaching how to tie their braids, to accompany them to the bathroom when their tummy hurts, is to decipher a look.

It is when the heart screams that something is happening with a child that suddenly deteriorates in behavior and academically, it is the art of transmitting love and security through a hug.

The lady did not know what to tell me ...

A good teacher is the basis of a successful education and for this to be the case it is necessary to have a series of personal and professional skills. Because teaching is not only transferring knowledge, it is much more, it is about knowing how to create the necessary conditions for students to learn to think and build their own knowledge about the world around them.

A good teacher needs not only a wide knowledge of the subject that he teaches and a study plan; He needs to be enthusiastic, affectionate and empathetic but also firm and respectful, responsible, punctual, flexible and communicative. These among other characteristics make up the keys to be a good teacher.

A good teacher among the many skills that must develop must show first of all:

1. Empathy, to put yourself in the place of the student and understand their difficulties or concerns; understand him and help him overcome the obstacles that hold him back or to put the necessary challenges that allow him to go further.

2. Patience, to deal with both those students that cost a lot and those who always want more, to know how to wait for the slowest but also to adapt to those who end up too fast.

3. Delivery for your profession and for the work you do. The good teacher is concerned with transmitting and spreading the desire to excel that involves learning without caring about the number of students per class or the cognitive, cultural, social or economic differences that exist between them.

4. Enthusiasm for what he does, able to motivate his students and infect them with the desire to learn and know. An enthusiasm capable of reaching the student and causing him to awaken curiosity about his surroundings.

5. Creativity A good teacher must be able to be creative both in the way of attracting the attention of students and in the way of exposing their knowledge creating unique, captivating and dynamic lessons.

6. Flexibility In the face of a special situation or problem, you must be able to change and find the way for all students to understand the concept you are explaining. Change course and adapt to the needs of the class group.

7. Consistency in their decisions. A good teacher should know how to put rules and rules in his classroom coherent and consistent, should to exercise the authority that his position grants him without falling into authoritarianism, which would detract from his credibility and alienate his students. For example, if he does not allow his students to eat chewing gum, he should not either.

8. Humility. A good teacher, no matter how hard he tries, can not be infallible, as anyone can make mistakes. Being able to recognize them, admit them and apologize is a quality that will always play in favor of the teacher, increasing the confidence of the children in him, since they will see him as what he is, a human being.

9. Respect towards himself, towards his classmates and obviously towards his students and their respective parents. If there is something that teachers must take into account, they are a role model for each of the students, who observe them constantly as they act, how they speak, how they move, respond or dress.

10. Responsibility, since it works with a very sensitive material: children and precisely the training of their students is the most important job they have to do. That is why a responsible teacher arrives on time, prepares classes well, motivates his students, is creative and communicative, attentive and patient always looking for the best for all of them.

The importance of setting the classroom

The importance of setting the classroom

For no one is it a secret that, when we arrive at a place our mood or perception changes depending on the environment and not so much on the context, that is, we can have a bad day but, if we arrive at an environment that is pleasant for us, we will completely change the humor ... even aromatherapy influences, because it allows you to reach events, spaces or places in time.

This is how the atmosphere works, at home most of us seek to have the right environment to satisfy our needs, which also implies your inner need, your emotional well-being, this is where I want to explain the importance of the setting of our work space as is the classroom.

This is more important than you imagine because, it is your space shared with a lot of different dreams and personal lives such as children, all teachers know that each of our students have different lives, some with difficulties more specific than others but that does not stop being a dream package.

When you arrive at a work environment where you feel comforted, with spiritual and balanced well-being no matter how much you are stressed or the children make noise the atmosphere will give you balance, the same effect happens with the students, due to many personal difficulties they have , at the time of reaching the classroom your energy will be balanced

the importance and the psychological impact is more relevant than you imagine for both you and the students

How to detect and treat sexually abused students

How to detect and treat sexually abused students

It is frightening to think about the possibility that one of our students is a victim of sexual abuse or abuse, but unfortunately it is a reality and can happen to both boys and girls. Part of our being and our vocation is to attend to the possible aggressions that our children are suffering, as does mama hen, they all hurt us and we have to face the issue.

A child or child who has been abused is any child subjected to physical, verbal and sexual abuse by an adult. Sexual abuse VA FROM SUBTLE INSINUATION UNTIL VIOLATION. Many times children also participate in the sexual game because they do not understand the malignity of the case or because they are very seduced by the friendship and affection that the abuser offers them. When faced with the situation, we often do not know how to react or how to treat the child who has been the victim of sexual abuse.

Here you have some suggestions that will serve as a guide that prepares you to face this situation

Observe the changes in their behavior. After some sexual abuse, whatever their origin, the children begin to act differently, they can dump their frustration in school, in their homework, with their friends or siblings. Consider some of the following behavior changes:

They become fearful in front of strangers, do not want to go out or do not want to go to school. They do not want to separate from the mother.
Low performance in studies, especially for the feeling of guilt they have and the consecutive depression.
Suddenly they do not want to frequent certain people or places, especially where they used to go without problems.
He has sleep disturbances, insomnia, dreams of anguish, night terrors, can not sleep and have nightmares.
They start to behave like when they were younger: they retreat to such a point of urinating on the bed, not wanting to eat like an adult, they become whimpering and have tantrums.
They talk about sexual issues that you do not expect them to know at that age.
Detect your guilt Sooner or later you will come to this dilemma: Do children always feel guilty?

Unfortunately, every child who is abused keeps in his soul the conviction that he (or she) is guilty of the aggression that he suffers and that he deserves it. This makes street and it is very difficult to talk about it.
If you suspect that your child is in this situation, you should treat him very tenderly by letting him know that the person who mistreats you is hurting him and that he is not responsible for anything and that he will not be punished for it. On the contrary, if you can tell who it is, you will help it to end soon.
Consider who the abuser is. The consequences can be worse depending on who is the person who harmed the child. Sexual abuse always generates a trauma, but even more so, if the perpetrator is someone who supposedly cares for him.

The sexual abuser can be any family member, friend, teacher or companion who makes use of their situation of affection or friendship to approach the child and subdue him, to make him prey to his desire and pleasure.
It can also be a person who bursts violently into his life. The sexual abuser knows what he is doing, plans and repeats it if he has the opportunity.
Listen to your son, daughter or student. As an adult you should take control of the situation and give your child the psychological support he needs. Do not cry, minimize the trauma and make him feel that at all times the culprit will be punished. You will have time to vent afterwards, when the child is not present.

Find out, without pressing it, what is happening. For which you do not question him, reassure him and let him know that such things can happen to many people.

If he does not tell you anything, he asks for help from a specialist, because in these cases the child has already started to repress because he feels guilty of what he experienced.
As soon as you know who he is, report it and let him know that the child will always be helped.
Assure your child that you love him and that he or she is not responsible for anything, give him lots of love and tenderness.
Get professional help Cases of sexual abuse are not easy to assimilate, let alone forget. You must take the child to be assisted by a professional to help him get out of the trauma, so that he can lead a healthy life despite what happened.

Many times it will seem that you do not need help because the child does not show great changes, but you must bear in mind that all your emotions are repressed and that they can hurt you sooner or later.
It is better to advise and stay calm doing everything possible for the health of your child. A specialist can investigate more deeply and help you more.
